Will Thomas represents a variety of healthcare entities and businesses, advising them on transactions and regulatory issues, and representing them in complex, high-stakes litigation in state and federal court. He is also the former leader of Parker Poe's Healthcare Industry Team. Prior to entering the practice of law in 1999, Will worked as an administrator in an academic medical center and in a physician's office, so he is uniquely familiar with both the operational and legal aspects of healthcare. Early in his legal career, Will served as a law clerk to U.S. District Court Judge Terry Wooten.
Will’s clients include general acute care hospitals (for profit, not-for-profit, and governmental), individual physicians and physician practices, urgent care centers, nursing homes, rehabilitation hospitals, psychiatric hospitals, ambulance companies, group homes, radiation therapy centers, and ambulatory surgery centers, just to name a few. Will typically interacts with in-house counsel, risk managers, CEOs, COOs and other healthcare administrators when providing day-to-day operations counsel, in addition to his regulatory, transactional, and litigation roles. Additionally, Will spent several years of practice defending pharmaceutical companies in multi-district OTC and prescription drug litigation.
