Practice Areas

Wayne specialises in property litigation and is recognised as a leading individual in the north west. With almost 20 years’ experience, Wayne handles all aspects of commercial property risk and disputes, acting for some of the UK’s largest property developers, investors and occupiers. He also acts regularly in mediations and expert determinations and clients pay testimony to his ability “genuinely to have ideas, not just take instructions”.

Wayne is best known for the work that he does on development constraints (rights to light, contractual and development disputes, rights of way and access rights) and was highly commended at the FT Innovative Lawyers (Europe) Awards 2019 for his expertise in this area.

Wayne also has a keen interest in complex landlord and tenant disputes and has considerable experience of high value complicated dilapidations claims; helping clients to navigate a commercial and cost-effective path to a successful resolution.

Notable work highlights include:

• numerous rights of light risk analysis and strategy on some of the largest development schemes in the UK; with a specific emphasis on high rise towers within the PRS and Student sectors;

• advising a JV consortium in respect of an option dispute for a significant regeneration scheme.

Wayne joined Deloitte Legal as a Partner in 2023.
