Victor Wan has over 20 years’ experience in Asia, advising investment banks, prime brokers and asset managers on transactions across the region (including Japan).

He specialises in derivatives and structured finance, with a focus on: (i) cash and synthetic securitisations, including residential property, commercial property, consumer finance, trade receivables and airline tickets; (ii) structured equity / corporate derivatives, advising major operating corporates, directors or shareholders on strategic investments transactions executed through derivatives; (iii) structured repos and securities loans – more recently as a tool for liquidity swaps or financing; (iv) structured credit transactions such as CDOs, CLOs, CLNs and repackagings; (v) central clearing of OTC derivatives in the Asia-Pacific region – for example, he is a member of the team advising the Hong Kong Stock Exchange to set up their CCP for OTC clearing; and (vi) Hong Kong regulatory advisory work.
