Vanessa Jakovich

Vanessa has broad and deep expertise in environment, ESG and clean energy. Her practice combines advice and transactional support on pure environmental law, corporate sustainability strategies and ESG compliance programmes, with support for the development and operation of complex clean energy and decarbonisation projects, with exceptionally strong expertise in the nuclear sector. She works with clients to build practical and creative solutions to address their ongoing ESG risks and opportunities, from corporate governance, reporting and disclosure to operational compliance, transformational M&A activity, and project development and investment.

Vanessa has experience on a wide scope of energy transition and infrastructure projects, including renewables, carbon-capture and storage and innovative networks, and has internationally recognised expertise in nuclear law. Her wider energy and infrastructure experience includes advising on rail, road, airport, port and oil and gas projects.

Vanessa is a member of Freshfields’ global Sustainability Leadership Team, and contributes to both client and industry-wide efforts to develop and improve sustainability and broader regulatory frameworks, particularly with respect to climate change and clean energy.
