Tom is a Partner in the Corporate team at Browne Jacobson with expertise in M&A, venture capital and private equity. Tom has a particular passion for working with early-stage and high-growth companies, and spearheads the firm’s initiatives in Wales in the retail, consumer & logistics sector and the manufacturing & industrials sector (with a particular focus on aerospace, space & defence).
Tom has advised a number of large corporates on their acquisition strategies over a number of years, whilst also supporting exciting high growth businesses on a wide range of issues, including scaling, fundraising and incentivising key personnel. Highlights including supporting Obconnect, an early-stage open banking technology platform, on a majority investment from Paypoint plc as well as advising Gallagher Bassett, the claims and risk management solutions subsidiary of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., on its acquisition of claims management specialist Caytons Law. Clients praise his pragmatism and knack for making the complex understandable.
Several deals on which Tom has advised have gone on to win awards at the Insider Wales Dealmaker Awards; a testament to his ability and the high calibre transactions he works on. Tom’s contribution and commercial acumen have been recognised by him winning Emerging Dealmaker of the Year at the 2020 Insider Wales Dealmaker Awards.
