Tim Green has been recognised by both Chambers UK and Legal 500 for 20 years as one of the Bar’s outstanding advocates in crisis management work, with particular emphasis on product safety/liability work. His practice includes investigations into companies and their officers arising from: (1) defective products, death or severe injury at work; (2) public inquiries and inquests; (3) serious environmental harm, and (4) complex and high value financial wrongdoing, including FCA/PRA, HMRC and SFO investigations. Tim is a highly trusted advisor and exceptional trial advocate. He is a technology litigator with experience representing the world’s largest data driven and life science corporations in a variety of jurisdictions arising from defective products. Tim frequently appears in crisis management “cross-over” work which straddles civil, coronial, criminal and regulatory jurisdictions. He is currently instructed in the two very large corporate manslaughter investigation, three public inquiries (Grenfell, Covid, Lampard) and numerous A2 and jury inquests. Tim’s advisory practice includes some of the world’s largest corporations on all aspects of product liability including that arising from £5bn contractual dispute with the MOD; deaths linked to the Covid vaccine; deaths linked to Clozapine; alleged defects in the functioning of the engines for a luxury car manufacturer; and alleged product fire safety failings by a global manufacturer of construction materials. Tim’s recent work also includes four recent appellate cases in HSE v Evergreen, HSE v John Henry, ESFRS v St Michael’s Hospice and AG v Bell (Privy Council). Since Tim’s success in the leading environmental waste authority of EA v Thorn International Limited, he has been widely acknowledged as an expert in environmental law and regularly advises large private and public undertakings on their response to EA investigations, civil undertakings and POCA. Recent financial crime instructions include highly complex multi-jurisdictional off-shore tax fraud, money laundering and perjury (Operation B); an independent review of suspicions of fraud/bribery in a large mining company; the leading pensions enforcement appellate authority of TpR v Workchain; FCA in perimeter enforcement; and an independent review of bribery/fraud allegations for the DPP of Grand Cayman arising from judicial review.
