Practice Areas
Mr. Slater's practice focuses on complex litigation matters with emphasis on antitrust, intellectual property, trade secrets, unfair trade practices, product liability and white collar criminal defense. He has handled dozens of civil antitrust cases, many of which were national in scope, including numerous antitrust class action cases that were consolidated by the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation. He has also handled criminal and civil actions brought by the US Justice Department.
In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Slater devotes much of his time to the community, having served as Chair of the Central Virginia Legal Aid Board, Chair of the Board of the Virginia Historical Society, Chair of the Board of the John Marshall Foundation and Vice Chair of the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia.
He is currently on the John Marshall Foundation board and the Virginia Museum of History board, as well as serving on the Peay Endowment fund at Virginia Military Institute.
