An attorney-at-law at Liedekerke since 2013 and with 19 years of experience, Thibaut Hollanders advises the firm’s national and international clients in relation to multi-jurisdictional, cross-border transactions in the areas of M&A (including private equity) and corporate (re)structuring.
Since the opening of Liedekerke DRC SASU in 2015, Thibaut has also acted as the Managing Director of the firm’s Kinshasa subsidiary, where he supervises the team providing legal assistance and support to clients. Thibaut was based in Kinshasa from 2014 to 2019, to launch Liedekerke DRC SASU’s office. Before joining Liedekerke, Thibaut has practiced with three major international law firms where he was also part of the Africa desk.
With a focus on the Energy and Mining sectors, Thibaut advises local and foreign clients in structuring their investments in sub-Saharan Africa, and more particularly in the DRC, setting up operations there and/or negotiating joint venture agreements as well as assisting with the acquisition or disposal of whole companies or individual assets in the mining, agricultural, energy, real estate, transport and industrial sectors. Thibaut is praised by clients both in Belgium and abroad as “excelling in cross-border transactions”.
Thibaut lectures on the DRC mining sector and legislation to geologists and engineers pursuing the Emerald Master in Georesources Engineering at the University of Liège. Thibaut holds a master’s law degree from the University of Louvain (UCL 2003) and an LL.M. in Competition and International Corporate Law from Kings College London (2008).
Thibaut is a member of the Brussels Bar since 2005.
