Sven Poysa

Practice Areas

Sven has significant experience in all areas of workplace law. He advises national and international companies on legal and strategic HR issues, including executive employment arrangements, corporate transactions, individual terminations, facility closures, workforce reorganizations and restructurings. In addition, Sven regularly advises a wide range of private and broader public sector clients on labour and employment compliance issues, outsourcings and service integrations. Sven has significant experience in collective bargaining matters, including union successorship issues and strategies. He regularly represents clients in judicial and administrative proceedings, with a focus on human rights, labour arbitrations, workers’ compensation, employment standards, and health and safety matters. Sven has spoken and written on a wide-range of labour and employment topics, and for many years taught Legal Inquiry at McMaster University. Prior to joining Osler, Sven clerked at the Quebec Court of Appeal with Justice Joseph Nuss.
