Susan Wetzel

Susan Wetzel serves as the Chair of Haynes Boone’s Employee Benefit and Executive Compensation Practice Group. Her experience encompasses all facets of employee benefits, including assisting U.S.-based clients, employers, executives and board members with the design and implementation of equity incentive plans for the benefit of their globally-based employees; and compliance issues relating to retirement plans, welfare plans, employee benefits, executive compensation, and mergers and acquisitions. Susan has provided legal advice regarding employee benefits issues in over 1,000 mergers and acquisitions throughout her 25-year career. She is a frequent speaker on employee benefits issues at seminars for human resources groups, bar associations, individual companies and continuing education seminars. In addition, she currently serves on the Dallas Women Lawyers Association Foundation Board of Directors and as a member of the ONU Law Alumni Association Board of Directors. Susan also serves on the Board of Directors of the Dallas Division of the American Heart Association (AHA) and leads Haynes Boone’s involvement with the AHA.
