Career

Stefano joined the Firm in 2020 as a Partner and head of the Rome office.

He is an expert in corporate and international taxation issues, corporate acquisitions and restructuring, and tax litigation. He routinely advises listed companies and Italian and foreign industrial and financial groups. He assists clients in all stages of tax assessment and litigation up to the higher jurisdictions. He has extensive experience in generational transitions and transfers of family businesses. Stefano also has significant experience in the conclusion of debt restructuring agreements and in the management of judicial arrangements.

Professor of Tax Law, Stefano lectures particularly on international and corporate taxation and is a regular speaker at IBA (International Bar Association). Conferences; Professor in tax law at the "Università Telematica Internazionale Uninettuno"; Lecturer for higher courses at the Scuola di Polizia Tributaria della Guardia di Finanza (Italian Tax Police Academy); From 2007 to 2016 lecturer at the “Università di Cassino e del Lazio Meridionale”; From 2003 to 2006 he was former lecturer at the Scuola Superiore dell’Economia e delle Finanze (Advanced Economics and Finance School); He was lecturer for the E.R.E.F. Master (Executive Real Estate Finance) at the Luiss University – Management School.

He was a member of the Associated Studies Commission of the Rome Bar Council (Commissione Studi Associati del Consiglio dell’Ordine degli Avvocati di Roma); From 2006 to 2008 he was Vice-Chairman and Conference Coordinator of the Tax Committe of International Bar Association (IBA); He represents ASLA within Confindustria-Assoconsult and was coordinator of the Tax & Legal section of the Collegio dei Probi Viri. He was member of the Board Secretary of the Institute for International Taxation Inc (IITI).

Stefano was listed among the ‘Top 10 Influential Tax Lawyers in Italy’ by Business Today and was awarded during the Top Legal Awards 2024 as “Lawyer of the year – Tax Advisory” and Legalcommunity Tax Awards 2023 as ‘Tax Litigation Professional of the Year’.

In 2019 and 2017, during the Legalcommunity Tax Awards, he was awarded ‘Best Practice Tax Litigation’ and in 2012 he was designated ‘TAX Professional of the Year’ by the Awards Jury of Top Legal magazine

Since 2010 he has been ranked among the best professionals in Italy by Chambers & Partners Europe and The Legal 500. In addition, he is recognised by International Tax Review as Notable Practitioner and by Best Lawyer as Recommended Lawyer in Tax Litigation, while Leaders League recognised him within the Corporate Tax category.
