Spencer Gilbert

Spencer K. Gilbert is a corporate partner and a member of the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity and Healthcare Groups. Mr. Gilbert regularly advises private equity firms, their portfolio companies and corporate clients on a broad range of transactions, including take-privates, leveraged buyouts, partnership and joint venture arrangements, carveouts and cross-border transactions, as well as corporate governance matters. His experience ranges across industries, including healthcare and adjacent businesses, software, industrials, media and technology, and financial services.

Mr. Gilbert is recommended for Private Equity Buyouts by The Legal 500 US (2025). In 2023, Mr. Gilbert was named a Law360 MVP for his work successfully negotiating complex and diverse transactions for private equity clients.

Mr. Gilbert joined Debevoise in 2013. Mr. Gilbert received a J.D. from Yale Law School in 2013 and a B.A. summa cum laude from New York University in 2010.
