Simon is head of the Litigation team at Boodle Hatfield. His practice covers a broad range of commercial litigation in particular advising on contractual disputes, claims for breach of warranty, shareholder disputes, family business disputes.
He has also created and developed the close-knit interdepartmental Art Law team which is going from strength to strength and is now part of the firm's DNA. Our Art Law and More team, is made up of five partners, and focuses on advising a wide range of arts clients from individual collectors, private galleries and dealers, family offices, landed estates, artists, museums, foundations, financiers and auction houses.
Simon advises on a wide range of contentious art matters including issues relating to ownership, authenticity and provenance matters, damaged artwork, art fraud and breach of contract by buyers and vendors. He has been involved in a significant number of high profile cases relating to alleged auction house negligence.
Simon is a founding member of PAIAM (Professional Advisers to the International Arts Market) and the IAL (Institute of Art Law). We support the arts through education and sponsorship and Simon has been on the Board of Mayfair Art Weekend, now one of London’s largest multiple-gallery events, since 2014.
