Career

Seung Ryong Yoo is a managing partner at Yoon & Yang LLC. His main practice areas include corporate and commercial law, criminal law, and administrative law.

Seung Ryong Yoo has successfully represented clients in white-collar crime cases such as large-scale financial and construction disputes, breach of trust, and embezzlement against companies and business owners. In the case of financial disputes, Mr. Yoo represented clients in a civil case in connection with the liability for asset-backed loans between Bank and other financial institutions and a case concerning credit enhancement in PF loans. In both cases, Mr. Yoo convinced the appeals court to overturn the decision of the trial court for all claims in favor of his clients. In the case of construction disputes, Mr. Yoo successfully represented clients in a case involving shared responsibility arising from a joint supply and demand relationship among construction companies and a case concerning large-scale development projects through foreign joint ventures.

Work Highlights

Secured an injunction for Lee Soo-man, preventing SM Entertainment's board from issuing new shares to external forces, setting a precedent on limiting the board's authority in governance changes.

Representing SK Shipping in a landmark product liability case against Korea Gas Corporation over defective LNG containment systems.

Represented and secured a victory for eight Groups (encompassing over 20 affiliates) in a case where the K-Sports Foundation filed a lawsuit to confirm the non-existence of debt against multiple companies that contributed at the time of its establishment.
