Career

Founding partner and co-head of the firm's M&A and Venture Capital practices, Sergio is a senior and well-seasoned M&A lawyer, recognized as one of the most active and experienced Brazilian dealmakers in the past five years according to TTR, having closed approximately 85 transactions during such period.

His clients include companies from a full array of sectors, including technology companies, VC, PE funds, and CVCs.

He holds an LL.M. from the University of California at Berkeley, a postgraduate business degree from FGV-CEAG, and received his law degree from PUC-SP.

Sergio has also authored several papers and articles on M&A. He worked for the Latin American Practice Group of O’Melveny & Myers and Latham Watkins in NY, where he focused on transactions carried out in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Argentina, and Venezuela.

Professional Memberships

Sergio is a member of the Board of Directors of Exec – Executive Search, and the Brazilian Bar Association.

He is a founding partner and investor of InvesteFavela, an NGO aiming at investing and fostering businesses with social impact. He has been a mentor at Endeavor since 2000, recognized with the “High Impact Mentorship Award” and participates in the mentoring of InFinance M&A group of Insper.
