Sergio Barboza is the head of the Banking and Finance practice in Peru.
He represents commercial banks, investment banks, multilateral agencies, ECA´s, private equity funds, and corporations in connection with a wide range of domestic and cross-border financings, including bridge financings, mezzanine loans, syndicated loans, acquisition financings, asset-based loans, and restructurings. He also represents issuers, investors, and investment banks in various domestic and cross-border capital markets transactions. He advises regularly concerning securities law matters.
For the past twenty years, Sergio has been counseling financial institutions, nonbank financial services firms, and financial technology companies on mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, and other corporate transactions, as well as on the full spectrum of legal and banking regulatory matters.
Sergio is a board member of multiple financial institutions regulated by the Peruvian banking authorities. He also teaches Banking Law at Universidad de Lima and other private institutions.
