Serene Hiew is a Partner specialising in construction, infrastructure and engineering disputes. Her practice focuses on adjudication, arbitration and litigation arising from complex construction projects.

She regularly advises contractors, subcontractors, developers and consultants on payment, delay, variation and termination disputes, as well as project administration and dispute avoidance strategies.

Her experience includes advising on construction disputes exceeding RM100 million in value, including matters involving major infrastructure and commercial developments.

• Advised on construction disputes exceeding RM100 million in value, involving complex contractual and technical issues.

• Acted as counsel in a delay and variation dispute involving a major rail infrastructure project, including issues relating to extension of time, valuation of variations and liquidated damages.

• Represented contractors and developers in adjudication proceedings involving payment claims and final account disputes.

• Advised on termination and performance bond disputes arising from large-scale construction projects.

Practises exclusively in construction and engineering dispute resolution.

Regularly acts as counsel in adjudication, arbitration and court proceedings involving complex construction disputes.

Serves as President of the Society of Construction Law Malaysia (2025–2027) and Director of the International Group of Arbitrators Berhad, reflecting active leadership within the construction and dispute resolution community.

Also serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director of a construction company listed on Bursa Malaysia, providing governance and industry oversight at board level.
