Started career with Nagashima & Ohno (1990), becoming partner in 1998. Seconded to Sullivan & Cromwell (1994-95) and the Institute for Monetary and Economic Studies, the Bank of Japan (1996-97). Member of the Financial Law Board (1998-present) and Japan Association of the Law of Trust (2005-present), and Board Member of Securitization Forum of Japan (2007-present), Japan Association of the Law of Finance (2015-present), Japanese Association for Business Recovary (2015-present) and the Financial Lawyer Forum (2020-present). Visiting Professor of Graduate Schools for Law and Politics, the University of Tokyo (2010-2013). Advisor to Financial Services Agency as Financial Policies Monitor (2016-present). The Chairperson of the Board of the JBA TIBOR Administration (2022-present).
