Career
Sarah specialises in cross border and travel law claims, including claims under the Package Travel Regulations, the Athens and Montreal Conventions, and at common law. She has a particular expertise in jurisdictional challenges and in conflicts of law and has been involved in many of the most challenging recent jurisdictional challenges in the High Court.
Sarah's recent work includes High Court and Court of Appeal decisions involving interpretation of the recast Brussels Convention and the meaning of residence, the validity of service outside the jurisdiction, and the interpretation of the Package Travel Regulations. She is also involved in a number of ongoing very high value claims, many of which involve fatalities or catastrophic injuries, often governed by foreign applicable law.
Professional Memberships
Sarah is Chairman of the Travel and Tourism Lawyers’ Association, was a member of the Consultative Group of Experts to the UNWTO Committee for the Development of an International Code for the Protection of Tourists, and has been co-opted to the Admiralty Court Users’ Committee as a representative of the personal injury Bar. She is a member of the Pan European Organisation of Personal Injury Lawyers and of the domestic Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.
