Sam Kim is a senior foreign attorney at yoon & Yang and his main practice areas are international arbitration and litigation.

Mr. Kim has represented clients in arbitrations administered under the rules of various institutions including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), Korean Commercial Arbitration Board (KCAB), American Arbitration Association (AAA), and German Institution of Arbitration (DIS), in disputes related to inbound/outbound investments, joint ventures, sales of goods, licensing of intellectual property, shipping, and construction.

Mr. Kim has also advised clients on various US litigation cases involving class actions, product liability, misappropriation of trade secret, construction and other general commercial disputes as well as on discovery. Prior to joining Yoon & Yang, he served as an in-house counsel where he handled various types of cases including complex litigations and disputes in countries such as the United States, Australia, Germany, Turkey, and the Netherlands, as well as antidumping and countervailing duties investigations by the United States government.

Handled a KCAB arbitration involving a nuclear power plant between a Korean constructor and a Korean state-owned enterprise

Handled a KCAB arbitration involving product liability between a U.S. generator manufacturer and a Korean power generation company

Handled an AAA arbitration involving plant construction between a U.S. constructor and a U.S. manufacturer

Handled an ICC arbitration involving a shareholders’ joint venture agreement between a Korean local public enterprise and a Singaporean company

Handled an SIAC arbitration involving a shareholders’ joint venture agreement between a Korean food company and a Hong Kong investment company

Handled an SIAC arbitration involving a supply contract between a Korean manufacturer and a Chinese company
