Practice Areas
Myong-Hyon (Brandon) Ryu’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions with a particular emphasis on cross-border (both inbound and outbound) transactions. He also has extensive experience in private equity transactions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, and corporate governance. Mr. Ryu has represented both major Korean and foreign industrial and financial companies as well as private equity firms.
Mr. Ryu devotes a portion of his practice to advising clients in anti-corruption (including anti-corruption due diligence in M&A transactions), FCPA/internal investigations, transnational white collar crime defenses and other compliance matters.
Mr. Ryu received a J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2001 and a B.A., magna cum laude, from Sogang University in 1998. He is a member of the Bar in New York.
Mr. Ryu has co-authored articles for international publications including the International Financial Law Review and Asian Counsel. He also lectured at the Judicial Research & Training Institute, Sungkyunkwan University and Konkuk University.
He is fluent in English and Korean.
