Sally Stone KC is Joint Head of Chambers at 1GC Family Law she practices in all aspects of children law.
Sally acts in private law proceedings on behalf of parents and on behalf of children in Rule 16 cases (particularly where there is a significant fact-finding element) but the main focus of her work is care proceedings and adoption, acting for Local Authorities, parents, children and other interested parties.
Frequently instructed in cases where there is conflicting and/or complex medical evidence involving serious non-accidental injury or death of a child, cases involving FII, sexual abuse, significant domestic abuse including death of a parent, honour-based violence, mental health issues, where there are multiple potential perpetrators, conflicting expert evidence and where there are concurrent criminal proceedings.
Recent cases include: Re C (Children: Covid 19: Representation) [2020 EWCA Civ 734] and Re K (Threshold – cocaine ingestion – failure to give evidence) [2020] EWHC 2502 (Fam).
