Rodney Dixon KC

Rodney specialises in public international law, international criminal law, extradition and mutual assistance, public law and human rights. He appears before all international and regional courts including the International Court of Justice (ICJ), International Criminal Court (ICC), European Court of Human Rights (inter-State actions and individual petitions), African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights, the ad hoc UN and 'hybrid' tribunals (including for the former Yugoslavia, Rwanda and the Kosovo Specialist Chambers), and in arbitrations, as well as before a multitude of UN bodies. He represents Governments, sitting and former Heads of State, high ranking military officials, victim groups, corporate bodies, individual claimants and defendants, and NGOs in wide-ranging litigation across the international spectrum. Domestically he acts in extradition proceedings concerning requests from several countries, eminent public law cases and civil claims, and as panel counsel for the UK Government, before all courts. He has also appeared in numerous public inquiries in the UK and abroad and has particular expertise in post-conflict remedies, reparations and transitional justice. He has a stellar reputation in the field of civil liberties and human rights, having been instructed in notable and ground-breaking cases.

Called to the Bar 2000; took Silk in 2014.
