Roderik van Hees is an experienced litigator in corporate and commercial disputes. He is admitted to practice both in the Dutch Caribbean as well as in the Netherlands. He mostly works on high-value, often cross-border cases.
Roderik's recent work highlights include:
(1) successfully appealing a USD 550 million liability verdict for one of the defendants in the largest directors’ liability case in the Dutch Caribbean ever;
(2) successfully representing a major US private equity firm in proceedings regarding a EUR 400 million takeover dispute before the Amsterdam District Court;
(3) current representation of an investor in a multimillion-dollar development project before the Suriname Arbitration Institute in Paramaribo;
(4) acting as lead counsel in Curaçao for the defendants in the USD 200 million+ cross-border dispute between, amongst others, BNP Paribas and Princess Camilla of Bourbon Two Sicilies.
Jointly with Rogier van den Heuvel, Roderik leads the firm’s litigation practice.
Roderik regularly publishes in well-regarded legal journals as well as in the media, mainly in the field of international private law and procedural law.
