Diek Fabius

Diek Fabius is a partner within VANEPS and leads our growing commercial contracts department involving contracting, trade law, and intellectual property & privacy.

Diek is an expert in commercial contracts, intellectual property & privacy, and trade regulations. He is generally engaged by medium and larger multinational clients with inbound or local activities and operations, involving transactions, specific contracts, forms of cooperation, and/or trade regulations in relation to services and products offered in our jurisdictions.

Via the firm’s Surinam Desk, Diek has also been involved in several Surinam onshore and offshore contracting projects combining international best practices with local knowledge and experience.

As part of the commercial contracts department, Diek leads our Intellectual Property & Privacy section, which includes VANEPS’ Trademarks department. By joining the forces of our lawyers and trademark agents, we advise on a wide range of intellectual property-related matters and international litigation. Additionally, our lawyers and IP officers manage IP portfolios of many national and international clients and advise in executing local or global trademark, copyright, domain name, and patent strategies and advise on registration, monitoring, auditing, protecting, maintenance, renewal, and assignments.

Diek is a regular guest lecturer at the University of Aruba.
