Practice Areas

Rocco’s practice focuses on engineering, procurement and construction law and infrastructure matters. Rocco has acted for project participants, including owners, governmental authorities, developers, contractors, operators, lenders, architects and engineers such as Emera, Pattern Energy, Samsung, Veresen, NextEra, TTC, Bruce Power, AECL, Hydro One and IESO. Experience includes P3s, privatizations and outsourcing of government services, procurements, project finance, major building, civil and public works design, engineering, construction, operation and maintenance, focusing on energy and infrastructure projects including Highway 407ETR, Sheppard Subway, Spadina Subway Extension, UP Express, Toronto Pearson Airport, St. Michael’s Hospital, Maritime Link, Bruce Nuclear Refurbishment, Lower Mattagami, Goreway Station, Portlands Energy Centre, South Kent Wind and York Energy Centre. Rocco’s practice includes contract negotiation with an emphasis on “preventative” structuring aimed at minimizing project risks and disputes. Rocco is a qualified and experienced professional engineer.

Career

Rocco was a nuclear design engineer and reactor safety analyst at Ontario Hydro from 1985-1990
