Richard is an M&A lawyer with a particular focus on infrastructure transactions acting for or with private capital investors. He works on infrastructure deals in the core and core plus space (and beyond). He has acted on transactions involving regulated utilities, transport infrastructure, telecoms, power and renewables and social infrastructure in the UK, Europe and globally. Richard regularly acts for some of the largest global infrastructure investors in the world, be they direct investors or funds, and is the co-head of the Freshfields Energy & Infrastructure group.

Richard also frequently works for, or with, one or more members of consortia and so specialises in negotiating governance and shareholder arrangements whatever the underlying transaction.

Richard has been at Freshfields since 2002 and has been a partner since 2014.
