Renato Mange is a senior partner with more than five decades of experience in restructuring, insolvency, and bankruptcy matters, and is widely regarded as one of Brazil’s leading practitioners in corporate distress. Renato has played a prominent role in shaping Brazil’s modern insolvency framework. He advises debtors, creditors, and financial institutions on court and out-of-court restructuring proceedings, insolvency cases, and complex turnaround situations, combining deep technical knowledge with strategic insight into distressed businesses.

Renato is also regularly involved in high-level discussions on judicial recovery, extrajudicial workouts, and bankruptcy law, and is frequently invited to lecture on insolvency and restructuring topics before public and private institutions.

Renato has been a partner at Mange Advogados since 1975.

Education: He holds an LLB (1974) from the University of São Paulo (USP).

Academic credentials, speaking engagements, etc: He was a member of the examining commissions of the Brazilian Bankruptcy and Reorganisation Law (Law No. 11,101/2005) appointed by the São Paulo Bar Association (OAB/SP) and the Instituto dos Advogados de São Paulo (IASP). He sits on the board of the Turnaround Management Association – TMA Brazil and is a member of the Brazilian Institute for Business Recovery (IBR). He also served as President of the São Paulo Lawyers’ Association (AASP) from 1995 to 1996.
