Raphael focuses his practice on restructuring and insolvency matters, advising banks, investment funds and creditors and debtors on out-of-court and court restructurings, as well as investors in the acquisition of distressed assets.

He also has a strong practice on Dispute Resolution advising clients in complex litigation and arbitration, including cross-border disputes across sectors such as banking, finance, private equity, infrastructure, and agribusiness.

Career

Raphael is a partner at Mange Advogados. Prior to joining the firm in July 2025, he was a partner at Lefosse Advogados, where he spent over 13 years. Earlier in his career he worked at Mattos Filho and as a foreign associate at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson in New York.

Education: He holds an LLM (2001) from Columbia University and an LLB (1992) from the University of São Paulo (USP).

Academic credentials, speaking engagements, etc.: Raphael is a member of the Association of Lawyers of São Paulo (AASP) and the Institute of Lawyers of São Paulo (IASP), serving on the latter Bankruptcy Commission; a member of IBRADEMP, where he serves on the Bankruptcy Commission as well as the Corporate Litigation and M&A Disputes Commission; and a founding member of TMA Brasil (Turnaround Management Association Brazil), on whose Fiscal Council he previously served.
