Raimundo Ortega

Career

Raimundo Ortega has more than 24 years of experience advising on energy and antitrust law, representing foreign and domestic clients. He was recently appointed by the CNMC (Spanish Competition and Regulatory Authority) as a Non-Governmental Advisor to the International Competition Network. Regarding energy, Raimundo has experience advising in a variety of matters encompassing regulatory advise, counseling on energy infringing procedures and challenging energy regulations before the CNMC, the Supreme Court, the European Commission and the European Court of Justice. He also has extensive experience counseling clients on antitrust in the energy sector, including cartel investigations, abuse of dominant position, state aids and merger, including phase 2 transactions with remedies, also at a national and EU level. In addition, he has experience dealing with FDI screenings. Raimundo teaches courses on energy and competition law at a variety of academic institutions.
