Phil is a partner in the Financial Services & Markets Department and a member of the firm's ESG and Impact Group.

He has a broad practice advising financial market participants on law and regulation affecting their business and their products.

Phil is counsel to hedge, credit, private equity and real estate fund managers, banks and investment banks, brokers and corporate financiers, exchange-traded product providers and payment institutions. He advises pension schemes on their investments, and is often involved in mergers and acquisitions, finance and restructuring in the financial services sector.

Phil is also a member of our cross-disciplinary FMIP group, advising a number of Financial Market Infrastructure (FMI), payment institution and fintech clients who, between them, are responsible for moving billions of pounds worth of securities and payments on a daily basis.

He is the past Chair of the Tax, Legal and Regulatory Committee of Invest Europe (the EU private equity trade association), the Chair of the Regulatory Committee of the British Property Federation, a member of the Alternative Credit Council Technical Group, and a member of the Asset Management Scoping Forum of the Financial Markets Law Committee.
