Practice Areas

Joe is a partner in our Dispute Resolution Department. Joe's practice covers a broad range of commercial litigation, acting for both claimants and defendants.

Joe has particular experience of claims and regulatory action involving professionals and he has acted in negligence claims involving lawyers, auditors, insolvency practitioners, tax advisors, technical consultants and investment advisors.

In particular, Joe has been involved in some of the most complex and high value solicitors' negligence claims in this jurisdiction, including disputes arising out of lost litigation, negligent tax advice, failed procurement exercises and negligence in the context of commercial transactions.

Joe has also been heavily involved in a number of competition claims, again acting for claimants and defendants. Notably, Joe acted for the European truck manufacturer DAF Trucks in respect of multiple claims arising from the July 2016 European Commission decision based on anti-competitive conduct in the trucks market. Joe played a key role in the first trial of such claims, which took place over a 9-week period.

In addition to his commercial disputes work, Joe also has experience of conducting internal investigations and acting for clients facing regulatory investigations.
