Paul Alain Foriers is a lawyer at the Belgian Supreme Court and combines active practice of litigation and advisory work.
He handles complex disputes in civil, commercial, corporate and financial law before all jurisdictions.
He also assists listed and unlisted companies and family groups in relation to corporate and family office structuring, public offerings, takeover bids, corporate matters and financial regulations. He also provides advice on complex questions of civil and commercial law.
Paul Alain Foriers is one of the four experts appointed by the Belgian Minister of Justice to work on the reform of the Companies Code, scheduled to be adopted this year.
Paul Alain Foriers is Ordinary Professor Emeritus at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, where he notably lectured on contract and tort law until 2018, and still lectures on special aspects of corporate law.
Paul Alain Foriers is the author of numerous contributions and publications in the fields of contracts, obligations, company law and financial law (takeover bids, market abuse, shareholding transparency, etc.). He is a regular speaker at leading law seminars in Belgium and a member of the editorial committee of Revue Critique de Jurisprudence Belge and of Répertoire Pratique de Droit Belge.
