Patricia Brown Holmes is the first African-American woman to be Managing Partner and have her name on the door of a major law firm that is not women- or minority-owned. She is a former state court associate judge and former federal state prosecutor; an experienced trial lawyer often appointed to high stakes “bet-the-company” matters and cases of significant public and political concern. Having practiced law on both sides of the bench in courtrooms at every level, she is a valuable partner, trusted counselor, and powerful asset to a wide range of corporate clients in several industries, including education, transportation, manufacturing, entertainment, industrial, healthcare, and food and beverage. She is one of a handful of Illinois lawyers who have tried cases in state, city, and federal court as well as state appellate, federal appellate, and Illinois Supreme Court. She is an avid and committed champion of diversity in the legal profession.
