Career

Mr. Safer is one of RSHC’s founding partners. He is an accomplished trial lawyer who handles high-stakes civil and criminal cases. He has represented successfully companies and individuals against charges of insider trading, accounting, tax and securities fraud, anti-kickback, FCPA, and environmental violations. He has tried successfully dozens of complex cases and practices before US DOJ, SEC, FTC, and state agencies. His impressive track record demonstrates his ability to command a courtroom. His accounting background allows him to understand and explain complex financial transactions. He was Criminal Chief in the USAO for the Northern District of Illinois and lead prosecutor addressing a broad range of criminal enterprises. He has represented, pro bono, numerous wrongfully convicted inmates in Illinois and around the country, often in conjunction with the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, Bluhm Legal Clinic, Center on Wrongful Convictions.
