He began his career in the public sector after joining the Senior Corps of State Insurance Inspectors, holding successive technical and leadership positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and the Ministry of Economy and Finance. He later served as National Expert in the Financial Services department of the European Commission and subsequently as Deputy Director at the Directorate‑General for Insurance and Pension Funds (DGSFP), where he was responsible for insurance regulation and supervision.

From 2021, he continued his professional activity in private practice, becoming a partner at Gómez‑Acebo & Pombo and later at an important international firm, advising on insurance regulation, competition, and financial services.
