Otto heads our Technology and Data team in the Netherlands and has over 15 years of experience in guiding clients through major IT projects and digital and technology transformations.
Otto will help you with more than just the legal paperwork. He is a commercial advisor who will work with you to select the right vendors for your technology project, and to negotiate the most competitive contracts possible before implementation. Otto enjoys being a trusted business advisor to our clients, advising not only on the legal implications but also on a strategic level.
Otto’s primary expertise is technology – everything from technology contracts, negotiations and litigation to advising on new technologies and digitalisation. As data is a factor in most, if not all technology contracts, Otto specialises in data protection as well. He frequently advises clients on GDPR compliance, international data transfer and commercial use of personal data. In addition, Otto also specialises in public procurement law and will apply the best practices in that field to your selection process.
When still working at his former firm, Otto did a number of inhouse secondments with clients (ABN AMRO, Nike, Capgemini and Ahold) to get the best possible understanding of what is important within the client’s organization. As such, he combines a profound knowledge of technology and law with experience in business roles and stakeholder management.
He is a board member of the Dutch Association for IT and Law (NVvIR), and a member of the International Technology Law Association (ITechLaw), the IT Lawyers Association (VIRA) and the Dutch Association for Procurement Law (NVvA).
