Norbert is an expert on compliance and investigations, corporate crime and data protection. His experience ranges from global investigations into complex fraud and bribery cases, to corporate defence work vis-à-vis public prosecutors, and before the courts. Norbert has more than 25 years' experience in data privacy, telecommunications and information technology law. He heads the Freshfields’ dispute resolution group in Germany and Austria.
Norbert joined Freshfields in 1995 as an associate and has been a partner since 2001.
Norbert has published and spoken widely on compliance and data privacy issues.
Norbert is an Honorary Professor for Internet and Data Privacy Law at the University of Cologne.
