Nicolas Cayouette

Nicolas Cayouette is a partner in Gowling WLG's Montréal office and is a member of the Litigation & Dispute Group. His practice focuses on civil and commercial litigation, insurance law and manufacturer liability, as well as environmental and construction law.

The holder of a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Nicolas is uniquely qualified to act in complex and technical disputes – particularly in the areas of engineering and construction - that require the intervention of experts acting in various fields. Most notably, he has experience advising companies on various subjects regarding the development and design of mechanical and structural components, specifically in the areas of wind energy and aeronautics.

He also acts for engineers in civil litigation matters and has provided assistance in conducting environmental due diligence in connection with the financing and acquisition of renewable energy companies, namely in the wind energy industry.

In the framework of the diverse matters in which he acts, Nicolas liaises with engineers, experts and lawyers to ensure that all technical aspects are accurately and adequately presented in the prepared and submitted materials.

He practises in English and French.
