Nadir Altaf

Nadir Altaf is a distinguished lawyer specializing in energy, infrastructure, and project finance, with extensive experience in Pakistan's power sector. Based in Islamabad, he has been instrumental in shaping multi-billion dollar investments in Pakistan's infrastructure and energy sectors. His practice encompasses project development, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution, with particular emphasis on power generation projects across various technologies, including thermal (coal, gas, RFO/HSD), renewable energy (solar, wind), biomass, and hydropower.

Nadir has been a Partner at RIAA Barker Gillette since 2008, where he has established himself as a leading figure in Pakistan's energy sector. He has played a pivotal role in developing the country's power infrastructure through his work on numerous significant projects.

Before joining RIAA in 2008, Nadir Altaf worked at two key organizations in Pakistan’s energy sector: the Private Power and Infrastructure Board (PPIB), a federal government facilitative body for private investment in energy projects, and the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), Pakistan’s electricity sector regulator.
