Mutembo Nchito was admitted to the bar in 1992. He enjoys the rank and dignity of State Counsel. Mutembo’s specialisation includes banking law, securities, tax, insolvency law and international commercial arbitration. Mutembo also has vast experience in anti-corruption work including collaborating with investigators and has been involved in numerous high-stakes litigation having served as Zambia’s Director of Public Prosecutions from 2011 to 2016. In a recent highlight, Mutembo has led a team in litigating various public interest cases concerning the protection of essential water aquifers in Lusaka and the protection of illegal trading of the endangered Mukula tree in Zambia. He has also led several negotiations on behalf of investors and corporates. Mutembo holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Zambia and a Master of Laws from the University of London Kings College.
