Mónica Cortez

Mónica Cortez is presently the Director of the Intellectual Property Department in charge of Trademarks and Modifications at Dentons Paz Horowitz. She has more than 25 years of experience in portfolio management and case management for local clients, international firms and multinational companies. She is responsible for the prosecution of trademark and patent applications, as well as the maintenance and ownership updates required for compliance and strategic portfolio optimization.

The Firm´s clients span all range the industry sectors, including food and beverage , information technology, healthcare, as well as consumer products, air freight and apparel. Mónica is also responsible for international coordination with the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, especially the Andean Community, as well as the European Community and Asia.

Mónica is an active member of INTA, regularly participating in both the Trademark Administrators and Annual Meetings, where she strengthens relationships with key global players and advances the firm’s international footprint.
