Mike Niekoop is a banking and finance lawyer based in Amsterdam. He has more than 15 years’ experience advising lenders, sponsors, investors and developers on complex domestic and cross-border project financings. His practice spans digital infrastructure, renewable energy and the broader energy transition, and traditional infrastructure.

Mike advises on development and construction financings, acquisition and refinancing facilities, portfolio and platform financings, holdco and borrowing-base structures, and hybrid structures combining project, infrastructure and real estate finance. He has extensive experience advising on data centres, wind, solar, battery storage, sustainable heat and a wide range of other energy-transition and infrastructure projects.

He also has a complementary aviation-finance practice, advising airlines, lessors, banks and other financing parties on aircraft financing and leasing transactions.
