He specialises in representing clients and their families affected by severe, life-altering injuries such as spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, amputations, polytrauma, and psychological trauma.
Mike is deeply committed to pro bono work and charitable initiatives, which are central to his leadership approach. These collaborations have delivered meaningful benefits, helping charities provide both physical and emotional support during some of the most challenging times in a person’s life.
In addition to his legal practice, Mike works closely with former police officers and family liaison professionals. He develops training materials for police forces and emergency services to help them better understand civil procedures following catastrophic public injuries.

As a result, Mike has cultivated trusted relationships with many of the UK’s leading insurance companies. He is widely recognised for his ability to secure rapid access to rehabilitation and financial support for his clients, always with a collaborative and compassionate approach.

Work Highlights
Mike has achieved numerous career milestones. Recent highlights from the past year include:
- Successfully settling a case involving a woman who lost all four of her limbs. Not only did Mike ensure she received a substantial financial settlement but also ensured she and her family received the support they needed, in terms of multidisciplinary rehabilitation, new accommodation, assistive technology, new prosthetics, and care for her new life.
- Representing a 10-year-old child with a severe traumatic brain injury. In order to settle the accommodation claim, Mike issued an interim payment application for £2.5 million to purchase a property and maintain a support package. Although the application was resisted, Mike managed to settle this claim, allowing his client the certainty of securing his accommodation future, and narrowing the issues going forward.
- Successfully settling a case for a woman who underwent a below-knee amputation based on a misdiagnosis of sarcoma. In reality, she had a non-cancerous tumour, and the surgery was entirely unnecessary. Mike meticulously built the case, secured an admission of liability from the NHS, and ultimately negotiated a £4.5 million settlement at a JSM. This covered his client’s lifelong care, rehabilitation, prosthetics, and home adaptations, allowing her to move forward with dignity.
- Representing a woman who suffered an upper limb amputation following a workplace accident. He supported her through employer disciplinary proceedings and worked with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), resulting in a successful prosecution.
- Acting for two families whose children were struck by a motorist. One child tragically lost their life, and the other sustained a severe brain injury.
- Successfully settling two traumatic brain injury cases, with compensation awards of £4 million and £3.25 million respectively.
