Mark is a senior associate at HCC Solicitors in Birmingham. He is an experienced personal injury lawyer who specialises in handling complex, catastrophic injury cases, such as brain injuries, spinal injuries, amputations and cases involving children and other protected parties.
Mark has years of experience dealing with road traffic collisions, workplace incidents, incidents in public places, criminal injuries compensation authority claims and claims against the Motor Insurers’ Bureau.
Career
Mark trained and qualified as a solicitor in 2009. He joined HCC Solicitors’ serious injury team in 2023 and has spent his entire career specialising in supporting clients who have sustained catastrophic injuries.
Professional Memberships
Mark was a regional secretary / co-ordinator for the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) for many years. He has also held positions on the board of directors with the Citizen’s Advice Bureau and Headway Cambridgeshire, as well as being a member of the steering committee for the Eastern Region Brain Injury Forum until he moved to the Midlands in 2024.
Personal
Outside of work Mark enjoys many hobbies, after setting himself a goal nearly a decade ago to learn a new skill every year. He is also a keen guitarist. He has a young family with both children at primary school, so keeping a good work/life balance is very important to him too.
Work Highlights
Mark has had many work highlights during his career and has helped a significant number of clients secure financial compensation and rehabilitation packages ranging from £1 million to circa £15 million.
In the past year, Mark’s work highlights include establishing and building the second team of lawyers in HCC’s Birmingham office, representing two para-athletes following injuries which have impacted their ability to compete at the highest level and supporting many of our charitable partners to enhance the lives of those suffering catastrophic injury.
He has also been heavily involved in raising the profile of the firm in the local community through links with barristers, experts and other professionals as well as providing talks and training in the region. His current caseload includes a number of multi-million pound claims that are still in the early stages of rehabilitation.
