Mika Kärkkäinen focuses on complex employment law, company restructurings and related dispute resolution. In addition to his advisory work, Mika Kärkkäinen has substantial experience representing employers in dispute resolution. He has acted as counsel to employers in a number of cases before the Supreme Court of Finland, and has argued three cases before the European Court of Justice.
Prior joining D&I Mika Kärkkäinen worked for years with the Confederation of Finnish Industries EK where he advised member companies and organizations on a wide range of employment related issues. Having served on various legislative drafting committees, he has gained a deep insight into Finnish employment law.

Mika Kärkkäinen has co-authored several books on employment law, including a leading treatise on the Act on Co-operation within Undertakings. He also frequently lectures on topics related to employment law.
