He has specialist expertise in the areas of corporate, finance, banking, securities, mergers & acquisitions, investment funds, tax, trusts and foundations.
Michael frequently speaks at international and domestic conferences, has written numerous articles and has authored several chapters for practitioner texts on Bahamian legal issues.
Michael serves or has served on a variety of governmental and statutory bodies. He is deputy chairman of the Securities Commission of The Bahamas (since 2017), former chairman of the Bahamas Financial Services Board (2002-2004) and a former director of the Bahamas Financial Services Board (2002-2006). He is also a qualified Certified Public Accountant (non-practicing) in the United States, and is involved in various government steering committees on taxation and international initiatives (OECD/EU).
Michael is a member of the Bar of England and Wales, the Bahamas Bar Association, the International Bar Association, the International Tax Planning Association and the State of Louisiana Board of Certified Public Accountants.
