Michael McTiernan has spent two decades focused almost exclusively on corporate and securities matters related to REITs and other real estate companies. With vast experience both as head of the SEC's REIT group and in private practice, Michael provides his clients superior insights into technical securities law matters.
Michael's practice focuses on advising traded and non-traded REITs and underwriters in a wide variety of corporate and securities matters, including initial public offerings, follow-on offerings, mergers and acquisitions, SEC reporting, corporate governance, and broker-dealer due diligence reviews.
After serving as an assistant director at the SEC, where he played a leading role in developing all of the SEC's recent interpretive guidance for REITs, Michael joined Hogan Lovells as a partner in 2013.
Michael is a member of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT), the Investment Program Association (IPA), and the American Bar Association (ABA).
