Practice Areas

Tom represents clients in responding to catastrophic releases and other environmental emergency incident scenarios, the defense of environmental citizen suits brought under federal and state law, the litigation and resolution of administrative and civil government enforcement actions, conducting internal audits and investigations into environmental incidents and risks, and Superfund site clean-up issues. His clients span a range of sectors, including major industrial, agricultural, oil and gas, and retail companies, as well as large municipalities. Prior to moving to private practice in 2007, Tom spent seven years as a trial attorney at US Department of Justice, where he prosecuted civil environmental cases for US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other federal agencies, and nearly three years as a lawyer with EPA’s Office of General Counsel, where he advised EPA program offices on chemical and pesticide regulation.
