Career
On a state, regional and national basis, Mike counsels clients on health care regulatory and transactional matters. His practice focuses across the health care spectrum on regulatory compliance issues , including matters involving professional and organizational licensure/certification, the Federal Stark Law and similar state physician self-referral prohibition regulations, Federal and state anti-kickback laws, HIPAA and other patient privacy laws, Medicare, Medicaid and other governmental payor requirements, health insurance/managed care organization and other payor regulations, corporate practice of medicine, and reimbursement disputes.
Mike provides comprehensive support on transactional matters such as health care acquisitions and joint ventures, contracting for health care services or items, and provider/payor relationships. He also serves as counsel for professionals and organizations regarding internal investigations , as well as in judicial and formal administrative agency proceedings. Those proceedings cover a wide array of matters, such as those that pertain to licensure, reimbursement disputes, competitive procurements, and government investigations and audits.
The Greenberg Traurig client base served by Mike includes a wide array of health care and their investor organizations, both for-profit and not-for-profit, including acute care and specialty hospitals; diagnostic imaging facilities; skilled nursing facilities; assisted living facilities; sub-acute and other specialty providers; home health providers, clinical laboratories, pharmacies, medical equipment suppliers, individual practitioners; group practices; medical clinics; provider networks; managed care organizations; employer and provider trade organizations/associations, and clients which that provide ancillary support to the business of health care.
